 History

Solar Springs was born over 30 years ago when a 1920’s Bundanoon guest house called "The Knoll" was purchased as the weekend retreat for a Sydney fitness centre, Solar Plexus.

The Solar Springs Country Club would welcome guests off the train on a Friday night for a weekend of sport, bushwalking, cycling, horse riding, fitness and relaxation classes. Over the next couple of years the Country Club transformed into Solar Springs Health Retreat and opened to the general public.

Over the years Solar Springs has continued to expand it’s facilities and services. In 1995, the 8 metre pool and hot tub were replaced with an Aquatic Centre boasting a 25 metre indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and a spa with fantastic views over the Morton National Park.

In 1997, the gym was expanded to include a group aerobics room and consultation rooms.

Each year Solar Springs introduces additional beauty & massage therapies and lifestyle consultations to enhance our already comprehensive menu. We strive to ensure there is always something new for our returning guests. Each year approximately 50% of our guests have stayed with us previously! A fabulous testament for Solar Springs.
